I started putting this together in April just after I finished the TCT MAN. For a truck and driver with such a big reputation there doesn't seem to be many good photos of it going about. I found an article in an old mag about it and even though there weren't many photos of it, there a a reasonable written description of the truck and trailer, so a fair bit of this build will be an educated guess. I took a few other photos of it during the build up but my computer is hiding them from me at the moment, if I find them I'll stick them up later on, or if any one I sent them to has them kicking about feel free to stick them up. I'm hopping to get it finished around next Easter or June, may be August.

I don't know what happened there, there seems to of been 3 versions of this post, Mr Bluepug can you take the comment from the other post so I can shut it down thanks. I made the roof out of Evergreen, Volvo FH chassis. Cummins big cam engine with fuller box, which I scrounged from Nigel at Auslowe. Howard's Transconti Trans kit, witch has TC written on the box and every time I look at the box I think it belongs to Tony Christie. Trailer is scratch built out of Evergreen with Auslowe tri axle parabolic steel suspension, and it will have a foil cover.

Well, this rig really means something even quite far from the UK so I will be in the queue waiting for the progress pictures.

I wasn't able to get any side on shots of it, so at first I lengthened the chassis by 7mm, but after having look with all the axles and wheels on I cut it back out then took another 5 out as well.

I've done a bit of painting over the last couple of weeks, I noticed in one of the photos that I have of this truck that Chris was wandering about with a tin of paint and a brush, so I've been mucking about with the hand painted look. Quite happy with the result, but I'll see if I can get it a bit more refined.
In the photo I have of the Turkish freezer box it's fairly hard to see if the finish is some kind of 3D quilting or some kind of burnished stainless steel. So at the moment this is my version.

Coming along well Jeff mate, only two hundred eyelets to make now.
Not sure how long the chop stick wheel bearings would last at 40 tonne up.

I've already made the eyelets, 10 hours to make 260. I had a bit of a miscount so now I have 40 for the next build.
They're not chop sticks, they're kebab skewers, so they have a higher load rating.

Hello Jeff,
coming along nicely, I also see you have a copy of one of my fotos of the Transcon, it was taken at the Dart Line ferry terminal, now closed, around August/September 1999
Keep up the good work
Ron
